When summer rolls around each year the staff at Methven's largest snowsports store ditch the merino for some lycra. Drop in for trail-maps, best riding tips and all the stuff you need to know about biking in and about Methven Mt Hutt Village.

If you are in Methven without your bike and want to take in the Mt Hutt Bike Park you can rent ours. Our rental fleet has full suspension x-country bikes and 29r xc hardtails.

Rich is our resident Biking Guru and a qualified Shimano technician. Drop by and check out our full service in-store workshop.

Big Al's are official suppliers for some serious brands. We're not a bike warehouse. We establish your exact requirements, make recommendations and hand pick the best product available within your budget.

Methven's largest snowsports store specialising in rental repairs with a large retail section. We have lived and ridden the Southern Alps for the last 23 years and offer you our extensive local knowledge. Combine that with our friendly staff and professional product training, Big Al"s Snowsports is your first choice for warmth, quality and reliability.

Rentals

Ski - We have a full range of ski hire including standard hire ideal for beginners or progressing skiers, and performance skis for intermediate to expert skiers who expect more performance from their skis. We also carry a range of fat waisted skis for heliskiing or off piste club field skiing and a small range of K2 telemark skis with Scarpa and Garmont boots.

Snowboards - Only the best here with Burton and Salomon boards. Burton & Flow and bindings with a large selection of Burton and Flow boots. For those boarders wanting a little more we have inline boards with top end bindings. These cost a little more.

Clothing - Look good and keep warm. We hire jackets, pants, gloves and goggles.
